2010 Summer Elementary Programs

Madison Central Montessori School’s Summer Program offers quality, creative, entertaining and educational options for students from 3 years of age through incoming 5th graders. Our programs are led by qualified, caring individuals who are looking to make each child’s summer experience fun and unique!

Techno-Adventure

Students will learn basic computer terminology, keyboarding skills and the basics of internet safety. Come and explore applications for word processing, presentations, picture enhancement and sharing. Students will be introduced to age-appropriate, kid-friendly websites for educational skill building, researching and just-for-fun games!

Survivor

Join Team Survivor and learn how to survive in the wild world of Madison. Learn how to build a shelter, make a fire and cook outdoors. Learn first aid tips and how to identify wild edible plants in the forest. Discover one of the greatest survival tools of all time as we embrace the awesome power of teamwork. Students should be dropped off at Picnic Point at 8AM on Wednesday and Friday.

Sports Mania

In this high-energy athletic session, we will focus on skills and teamwork. Through non-competitive sports, you are sure to exercise your mind, body and spirit.

Nature Neophytes

Through hiking and exploring, summer campers will learn about the wonderful world outdoors. Children will partake in plenty of outdoor adventures. Explore leaves, trees, and bugs that are native to our area!

Fun With Fiber Arts

Knitting, crocheting, weaving and more! Students will use their fine motor skills and creativity to explore the fabulous world of fiber arts. Learn how to dye yarn and create masterful works of art from old sweaters!

Summer Jamboree

Children will eat lunch together at MCMS before heading off for a variety of adventures in and around Madison in the afternoons. Children will have an opportunity to swim at pools and in lakes, take trips to the zoo, visit local museums and more. Morning programs may include cooking, art, science, or backyard games here at MCMS. This is sure to be a dynamic experience as instructors tailor activities to the children’s interests.
